Being a Popstar
E: How did you join Hepburn?
S: I had been studying music at college, playing in a carwash band. Somebody had heard of me, and passed the word on, and I got spotted by a talent scout from Sony who suggested that the girls should see me play. I auditioned for the band, got the job, and haven't looked back since!
E: Do you have any advice for people who want to become popstars?
S: Practise, practise, practise! Attend any musical events, gigs, etc that you can. Try to make as many contacts as possible. Go to music school. Try to perform in front of as many people as possible so you're very visible, and if you're good enough you should be able to get a manager or an agent to help you on your way.
E: So do you get to meet any famous people?
S: Loads and loads now. We've been doing loads of festivals this summer and because of this you get to become friends. We're good friends with A1 (who are also on Sony Columbia), Fierce, Westlife, know Adam Rickett, Marvin and Tamara, 911, Billy, Another Level, S Club 7, 21st Century Girls, Thunderbugs, Five, Caprice, Toutes les Filles, Kele Le Roc, Dina Carroll, Phats n' Small, The Wiseguys (who remixed Bugs for us), and B*Witched... and loads more, I can't remember all of them!! I've also met Mel C, who is a really really nice person.
E: Wow. Are you enjoying it?
S: (Laughing) It's brilliant. It's hard work, but it's fantastic!
