Sarah's Grades
E: What instuments do you play?
S: Well, apart from bass... Guitars of
all description. You know, acoustic, twelve-string, whatever
really. I have my grade 5 practical and theory in bass. I
play bass to grade 8 standard but I never took my grade 8
tests because I was half-way through my college year when the
Hepburn thing happened...
E: But guitars aren't the only instruments you play, are they...?
S: No. I'm graded in piano. I can play
mandolin, double bass, and play the drums a bit. Oh - and I
sing a bit as well! My second favourite instrument - after
bass - is the sitar. I'm learning to play that too.
E: What about technical stuff?
S: I have experience with Cubase, music sequencing, and I know my way round
a recording studio. I studied all of this stuff as part of my BTEC in Popular
Music at Clarendon College in Nottingham.
E: What grades did you get on your course?
S: They were okay.
E: You got seventeen distinctions and two passes, didn't you?
S: (Laughing) I was quite pleased about
it! Don't put that bit in though cos it sounds like a big
"Sarah" advert!
E: Okay, I won't.
